Upcoming Tennis Events to Support Florida Tech Autism Center

MELBOURNE, Florida  – The Fourth Annual Aces for Autism Tennis Clinic is set for Saturday, June 15, at the Kiwi Tennis Club to support Florida Institute of Technology’s Scott Center for Autism Treatment’s Social Skills Program.

The event occurs during Revolution Technologies Pro Tennis Classic, a USTA Pro Circuit men’s tennis event, June 7-16, which also benefits The Scott Center. Admission is free to spectators on tournament days June 7-13.

The clinic is free for children ages 5-15, who are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders and their siblings, and will be held from 12-1 p.m. on June 15. Free T-shirts, drinks and snacks will be provided to participants. Children can bring their own rackets, or borrow one at the clinic. The tennis clinic is open to 50 children. As of Thursday morning, only 20 spots remain. To register, parents should e-mailaces@fit.edu and include their child’s name and age.

The semifinals start at 11 a.m. June 15 with the feature match set for 4:30 p.m. or later. Tickets are $20.

On June 14, the feature match takes place at 5:30 p.m. This is Florida Tech Night, with entertainment by TWITCHY, the Florida Tech President’s all-faculty band. Tickets are $15.

The finals on June 16 start at 11 a.m.; tickets are $25. For Father’s Day each ticketholder this day is entitled to one free beer courtesy of the Florida Beer Company.
